VIA USA - Hybrid Edition | Vinitaly International

VIA USA - Hybrid Edition 2020-2021

With 15 candidates from all over the US, Vinitaly International Academy travelled back to San Francisco and New York, for its 19th edition held from 26th to 28th July 2021, following the new hybrid format of VIA. With the online theory classes continu-ing, candidates came together in the tasting centres of San Francisco and New York to be led by Faculty members through advanced seminars and intensive practical sessions to prepare for the examination. The candidates went through a 3-day intensive course with the VIA Faculty headed by Henry Davar IWE as the complementary knowledge to the online lectures covering 20 Italian wine regions.
The guided tastings of 36 archetypal wines give our candidates the opportunity to really understand and learn the differences between each grape variety and wine, as well as the confidence to talk about what each wine. The application to the course was open to wine professionals all over the US, appli-cants were required to provide relevant wine education certificate as well as stating their motivation to participate the course. New York contributed the biggest group of candidates.
